Schedule Update: Wednesday, March 4

Dear Taunton Caregivers,

We hope you and your families are safe as our community continues to recover from this week’s blizzard.

As we prepare to welcome students back on Monday, March 2, our priority is providing a consistent and uninterrupted return to learning. We also must ensure that the district meets state requirements for instructional time. To support both goals, we are making the following change to next week’s schedule:

Wednesday, March 4 Update:
The previously scheduled early-release day on Wednesday, March 4, will now be a regular, full day of school for all students. The professional development sessions originally planned for that afternoon have been canceled so the day can focus fully on classroom instruction.

End-of-Year Calendar:
We know many families are wondering how these recent closures may affect the last day of school. We are reviewing the calendar carefully, including state requirements for instructional days, and will share an update as soon as a decision is made.

We appreciate your continued patience and the work of our city crews as they prepare for a safe reopening. We look forward to seeing our students on Monday morning.

Respectfully,

John J. Cabral, Superintendent
